Detox with simple wholefoods for a healthy start to the new year.

First of all, happy New Year from the Farm team, and welcome back!

This week we’re talking – as can be expected after the silly season – about detoxing! I
think I heard more than a few collective groans there. Not to worry, we’re going
nowhere near restrictive diets or juice cleanses, just throwing few simple recipes out
there to get to you feeling vibrant and wonderful, just as you should be at the start
another fabulous year!

Berries in Apple Cider Vinegar with Cashew Nut Cream

Haven’t quite lost the seasonal sweet tooth? Try this super easy recipe that can be
thrown together as a quick dessert, or make an interesting addition to any summer
picnic basket.

Ingredients

2 cups fresh berries

4 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

1/3 cup slivered almonds

Cashew Nut Cream

1 cup raw cashews

2/3 cup filtered water

2 Medjool dates, pitted

1 teaspoon organic vanilla powder (or vanilla essence)

¼ cup blanched flaked almonds

 

Method

1.To make the cashew cream, place all the ingredients in a food processor or

blender and whizz until smooth and creamy. Just add more water for a

smoother texture if required.

2.Divide berries between two small bowls, and pour two teaspoons of apple

cider vinegar over each.

3.Pour equal amounts of the cashew cream over the berries, and top with some

crunchy, flaked almonds to serve. Enjoy!

 
Ultra Hydrating (and tasty) Aloe Vera juice

This ultra hydrating juice knocks your evening cocktail or glass of wine strait out of
the way, and is packed with potent antioxidants for detoxing the liver, beautifying
your skin, and contains three of the most powerful natural digestive aids;
pineapple, lemon, and aloe vera. Yum!
 

Ingredients

2-3 leaves of Aloe Vera
 
(or 1 cup of the unsweetened store bought juice)
1 cup coconut water
 
1 small cucumber
 
½ lemon (skin on if organic)
 
¼ small pineapple (roughly ½ cup)
 Method
1.prepare ingredients ready to juice and blend.
2.To prepare Aloe Vera; slit one the edges with a sharp knife and open up the outer layer and scoop out
the flesh and discard the skin.
3. put in all the ingredients through the juicer or blender.4. Serve chilled and enjoy straight away!
